BHP Cross Country Course Updates

The MHT board of directors has decided to focus strongly on the course upgrades and dedicate as much funds as responsible to the project. This requires MHT to put forth a massive financial investment to upgrade the course – this includes demolishing and removing broken/rotten permanent jumps, rebuilding those jumps, and building many new portables. The MHT board wants to ensure that the future of eventing in Manitoba keeps growing and the quality of the course is managed and maintained to host future quality shows. The scale of this project is quite large and has been broken down into three phases.

Phase I will create new portable jumps and repair current jumps to the current safety standard; this will allow MHT to host a multi-level sanctioned event. These events will bring new membership and additional income for Phase II and III. Phase II of the course rejuvenation will include the purchase of “break away” styled jump flags and removal/disposal of old jumps that are no longer safe. Phase III will include the rebuilding of the water complex situated at Birds Hill Provincial Park.

Phase I is currently in motion! We project new jumps to make an appearance this season! Stay tuned for more information and updates!
